Our Story
Born from the desire to foster community amongst artists, Spur Projects is an artist-led, curatorial project, which serves as an opportunity for exchange and pop-up exhibits of contemporary work.
Spur Projects is focused on spotlighting material research art practices and ecology-derived work, that highlight relationships and interactions between humans and their physical environments.
Participating Artists are asked to develop pieces in direct response to the show’s theme, echoing the exploratory spirit of an art school project. This structure offers Artists a supportive venue to experiment, take risks, and pursue ideas free from the constraints of a commercial gallery setting.
Spur
A "spur" means to encourage or stimulate action/growth
on impulse; without planning in advance. “spur of the moment”
give an incentive or encouragement to (someone).
